RAW CHEF TRAINING
Many raw food restaurants offer raw food preparation courses. If you live near a raw food restaurant, check to see if they offer classes in food preparation. Or see below for information about Cherie Soria’s Living Light Culinary Arts Institute in Fort Bragg, California.
As raw culture spreads across the world, more retreat centers and raw food restaurants are offering food prep classes. These may be one-day, multiple-day, or multiple-weekend classes.
In Australia, there is Samudra, the yoga and surf school that also has a raw food café. They offer multiple-day courses in raw food preparation. Contact http://www.samudra.com.au.
There are also chefs who teach private raw food prep classes, such as

With the Living Light Culinary Arts Institute, Cherie Soria has raised the bar on the standards of raw foods. She has taken over nearly half of an historic two-story building in this small town on the Northern California coast, and has transformed it into a fully-staffed teaching facility with top-of-the-line equipment.
As Soria’s Web site states, “In the comprehensive 17-day chef-training program students learn all aspects of creating living foods – from appetizers to desserts, breads to confectioneries. Attendees range from Parisian executive chefs to novices.” As a bonus for those who complete the full program, the Institute has an alumni coordinator who can be helpful in connecting graduates to potential employers.
Living Light Culinary Arts Institute also holds workshops and seminars for those who can’t commit to the full-length program, and for those who simply wish to learn how to make truly healthful food that tastes amazing. Additionally, the Institute holds an annual seminar week that includes many visiting authors, nutritionists, natural health practitioners, chefs, and instructors.
Soria runs a raw food café and retail store in the same structure that holds her Institute. She has also restored a nearby mansion into an eco-friendly bed and breakfast that serves her foods.
Check out Cherie’s wonderful book: The Raw Food Revolution Diet: Feast, Lose Weight, Gain Energy, Feel Younger. It is not only a recipe book, it contains a tremendous amount of information that substantiates the benefits of a raw food diet – proving that the raw food diet not only meets, but exceeds our dietary needs. It is co-authored by dietitians, Vesanto Melina, and Brenda Davis using peer-reviewed studies.
